FFF Open - 27th October 2016 - Far Hope

A big well done to Tony Palios on winning the latest Thursday open match held on Far Hope. Tony weighed in with a fantastic weight of 70lb fishing from peg 8. Quality carp and bream caught up in the water using the soft pellet on the pole went to make Tony's weight.
In second place fishing from peg 17 was Malc Swindels with 47lb 2oz. Malc also pole fished the soft pellet, catching quality carp and bream at about 4 metres.
Third place was taken by Roy Maddocks fishing from peg 21. Roy caught quality carp, fishing pellet on the tip.
Fourth place was taken by Pete Clements with 33lb 10oz from peg 19 followed by Dave Dixon in fifth with 27lb 6oz from peg from peg 10. Dabba Booth was in sixth place with 26lb 10oz from peg 6.
Our next open match will be held on Big Beam this coming Saturday with the draw at 9.00. Everyone welcome, see you there !!

FFF Open - Winter League week 1 - Saturday 22nd October

With a heavy dew and leaves falling Big Beam had a very autumnal
feeling for the opening week of our winter league. A great turnout saw fish favouring the higher numbers down the back leg.
A big well done to Darryl Smith who took the spoils with a fantastic 57lb 11oz of quality carp from peg 41. Darryl fished the pole with the soft pellet catching fish from all over his swim.
Second place was taken by Dave Holland with 48lb 11oz fishing from peg number 9. Like Darryl Dave caught carp , skimmers and F1's using the soft pellet on the pole.
Third place was taken by Stef Brown fishing from peg 50. Stef weighed in with a very respectable 41lb 3oz of carp caught on the pole using the meat and pellet.
Fourth place was taken by Mick Potter with 36lb 14oz from peg 47 followed by Dave Holman in fifth with 35lb 9oz from peg 35.
Our next open match will be held on Big Beam this coming Thursday with the draw at 9.00, see you there !!

FFF Open - 20th October - Big Beam

Big Beam welcomed match fishing back in the latest Thursday open match. Even though water temperature dropped below 10 deg C, sport was brisk.
A big well done to Stef Brown on winning with a fantastic weight of 63lb 14oz of quality carp and skimmers. Stef fished the soft pellet on the pole from peg 26.
Second place went to Tony Palios with 29lb from peg 8. Tony also caught quality carp and skimmers catching mainly on the tip with a little scoop feeder hair rigging a hard pellet.
Third place was taken by Roy Maddocks with 28lb 10oz from peg 12 fishing the method. Fourth place went to Malc Swindels with 28lb 5oz from peg 20 with Dabba Booth in fifth with 23lb 2oz from peg 26.
Our next open match will be held on Big Beam this coming Saturday and will be round one of our winter league. Everyone is welcome to enter, the more the merrier, see you there !!

FFF Open - 15th October - Far Hope

As autumn takes hold, fishing became a little harder than of late on Far Hope in the latest Saturday open match.
Fish had seem to have moved off the hot pegs of recent weeks with Stef Brown taking the win from peg number 6. Stef fished the tip to the island to weigh in with 40lb 14oz.
Second place was taken by Pete Conlon with 31lb 11oz from peg number 8 with Brian Salt claiming third place with 25lb 9oz.
Our next open match will be held on Big Beam this coming Thursday followed by the first week of the winter league also on Big Beam on Saturday, everyone welcome !

FFF Open - 13th October - Far Hope - 103lb Haul!!

A huge well done to Malc Swindels, not only did he win the latest Thursday open match, he did it with his biggest ever weight in over 50 years of match fishing !
Malc weighed in with a career best total of 103lb 14oz of quality carp, bream and F1's caught on the pole from peg 14. Fishing 2+2 in front of him and down both sides using the soft pellet bites came thick and fast from the all in.
In second place with 66lb 9oz also fishing the soft pellet was Ricky Haynes on peg 10. Ricky caught quality carp, bream, F1's as well as 3 fantastic big tench at 5 metres.
In third place was Tony Martin with 38lb from peg 8. Tony caught quality carp, bream, chub and F1's using corn on the waggler.
Fourth place was taken by Tony Palios fishing from peg 19 to catch 30lb 4oz of quality carp and chub on the tip from the island.
Our next open match will again be held on Far Hope this coming Saturday with the draw at 9.00, see you there !!
